2025 CVSA Annual Roadside Blitz
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) Roadcheck will be held May 13th, 14th, and 15th 2025.
Law enforcement officers will be doing thorough inspections at weigh stations, set up road side sites, and during road side stops. Inspectors will be conducting standard North American Standard Level I Inspections, a 37 step inspection; they will however be paying special attention to two particular areas.
This year the driver particular emphasis is on Records of Duty, and the falsification of. Failure to use, complete, or retain Records of Duty, or knowingly falsifying records/logs is an out of service violation, and makes the driver and/or carrier subject to prosecution.
As part of the driver inspection inspectors will review driver’s documents, CDL/license status and if the driver has the proper license, medical examiner’s certificate, record of duty status/logs, Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse status, seat belt usage, and drug and alcohol usage/impairment.
The vehicle primary subject/target is tires. Inspectors will be checking tire tread depth and pressure/inflation. They will also be looking for other damage to tires (leaks, separation, bulges, damage to sidewalls, cuts, and improper repairs.)
Inspectors will also review vehicle brake systems, cargo securement, coupling devices, driveshafts, seat, exhaust systems, fuel systems, frame structures, lighting, steering components, suspension components, tires, wheels/rims, bubs, and wipers.
